  1.    "Zarrow" is a bizarre display face in which each character is made up of 
  2. some combination of bows and arrows. 
  3.  
  4.    This font is known to be copyrighted and is believed to be shareware, but 
  5. as the font artist's textfile is corrupted in the available source files, 
  6. the exact status is unknown. 
  7.  
  8.    This Postscript Type 1 font was created for use on Macintosh systems, and 
  9. was downloaded from a Macintosh/graphic-arts-oriented BBS and converted for 
  10. use on IBM-PC-compatible computers running (1) Windows 3.x or a compatible 
  11. graphical user interface, and (2) Adobe Type Manager or an equivalent font 
  12. manager.  Various steps in the conversion process may have involved some or 
  13. all of the following PC utilities:

  15.    "Unsit" by Brian Uechi...a PC utility for unarchiving Macintosh 
  16.    "StuffIt"-archived files.  The Macintosh filename of such an archive 
  17.    sometimes ends with an ".sit" suffix.  "Unsit" is an invaluable tool for 
  18.    working with Macintosh files.  (Unfortunately, it will not handle the 
  19.    more-recent Deluxe StuffIt format, which can be identified by looking at 
  20. the 
  21.    StuffIt file with an ASCII fileviewer; standard StuffIt files have a 
  22.    SIT!SIT! signature within the first few bytes, while Deluxe StuffIt files 
  23.    have a SITDSIT! signature.)  Copyrighted freeware.  Version 3.0 dated 
  24. 5-2-91

  26.    (617-354-8873); may be listed on BBSs as "unsit" or as "unsit30", but 
  27. check 
  28.    file dates to obtain a current version, as earlier versions may still be 
  29.    posted on some BBSs.

  31.    "Extract" by Bill Goodman...a PC utility for unarchiving Macintosh 
  32.    "Compactor Pro"-archived files.  The Macintosh filename of such an archive 
  33.    sometimes ends with a ".cpt" suffix.  "Extract" is another invaluable tool 
  34.    for working with Macintosh files.  Copyrighted freeware.  Version 1.0 
  35. used. 
  36.    Available on CIS and on BBSs, including Channel One, Boston.

  38.    "Wrefont 3.0" by Acute Systems...a PC/Windows utility for performing 
  39. various 
  40.    font conversions, adjustments and repairs.  This is a tool for a font 
  41.    mechanic, not a font artist.  This full-feature version is $20 + $4 S/H; 
  42.    "Refont", a trial version with limited but still quite useful 
  43. functionality, 
  44.    is available on CIS and BBSs, including Channel One, Boston.  "Refont" 
  45.    contains ordering information for "Wrefont".

  48. This font has been tested for apparent complete functionality in a stable and 
  49. conventional PC/Windows 3.0/ATM 1.15/PageMaker 4.0 system which is heavily 
  50. used for DTP work.  No warranty is provided and no representations are made 
  51. or 
  52. implied with regard to suitability of this converted font for any purpose or 
  53. function in any other system or use.  The user is entirely responsible for 
  54. ascertaining the suitability of this converted font for his or her intended 
  55. use.  It is strongly recommended that any software tool, commercial or 
  56. shareware, including this converted font, should be tested before use for any 
  57. important work.  John Schaefer has no proprietary rights to the converted 
  58. font, which is essentially unchanged from the copyrighted original version 
  59. and 
  60. thus remains wholly subject to the original font artist's copyright and 
  61. conditions of availability.  Note, however, that the original font artist 
  62. cannot be responsible for, and cannot provide support for, the font

  65.    Normally a translated, unedited version of the font artist's textfile, as 
  66. included in the original Macintosh font file, is included in a conversion 
  67. file 
  68. such as this.  Unfortunately, in this case, the archived font file as 
  69. available on various Macintosh-oriented BBSs contains a heavily corrupted 
  70. text 
  71. file, and neither a corrected version nor the font artist's address has been
